Grenada

The island of La Grenade, today Grenada, was occupied by French from Martinique in 1649. It had the best natural harbour in that part of the French Caribbean. I don’t know if there was an openly Jewish community on the island, but there may have Portuguese/New Christian merchants. The answer will likely be in the notarial archives of Bordeaux and Bayonne, if they survive.
